My co-workers know the news, but my other friends don’t: I’m moving back to NYC at the end of February.
My reasons for doing this 99% revolve around work. I’m going back where the rest of the creative team on the project I am is, and having all the designers within one office is something that I have been dying to have on this project since I started. On top of this, a majority of the designers at The Barbarian Group work out of our NYC office, and this past year being the only designer in the SF office has created far more challenges than I had thought it would. Anyway, I think this is a sign that I am growing up (editors note: EWWW GROSSSSSSS!!!) in that I am finally thinking about my career and my future, and going where I will be the most challenged.
This was not an easy choice to make, since San Francisco is home to me. People here are not neurotic as eff. The weather is reasonable year round (not looking forward to another summer in NYC, uhg). New Jersey douchebags are no where to be found. Our burritos are epic! Plus, I love my friends here. WTF!?
Anyway, I’m still around in SF for a while longer, so let’s rule! And NYC kids… prepare yourselves for the ultimate in high fives please!
When I first started hearing about this project, I had doubts to it’s probable awesomeness… then I saw this video and its definitely now looks potentially radical! It’s just a prototype of course, but I’m really enjoying the concept of a fully interactive magazine. YAY THE FUTURE IS AWESOME! WHEN CAN I BUY SOME HOVER BOOTS?
This is how I began my holiday weekend, with my feet in the ocean in front of my parents house. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
This video is beyond NSFW. It is also beyond amazing. Thanks Robert!
A fun short little movie about the brand and design development for the San Francisco chocolate company, TCHO. I love how they chose to represent their brand through the visuals of currency.
